AN ART WORK REVİEW: REMBRANDT HARMENSZOON VAN RİJN'S A SELF-PORTRAİT

This study has tried to analyze and synthesize one of the lifetime self-portraits of Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, a prominent Dutch artist of the Baroque period, dated 1661 during the Late period. Based on this work: we have revealed the life, artistic identity, self-portrait art and many more stylish features of the artist. The great mastership of the artist in self-portrait originates from not only his paint technic, but also his success in catching the human mood. This feature is apparent in his self-portraits, as well. Due to these stylish features, Rembrandt is a significant and imperishable artist not only within his era, but also in the entire art history.

Bu çalışmada, Barok dönemin önde gelen sanatçılarından Hollanda’lı Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn’nin, yaşamı boyunca yaptığı otoportrelerinden biri olan 1661 tarihli, Geç dönemine ait bir çalışmasının analizine ve sentezine çalışılmıştır. Bu eserden yola çıkarak: sanatçının yaşamı, sanatçı kimliği, portreciliği ve daha pek çok üslupsal özelliği ortaya konmuştur. Sanatçının portrecilikteki büyük ustalığı: boya tekniğinin yanında, insanın ruh halini yakalamadaki başarısıdır. Bu özellik, onun otoportrelerinde de belirgindir. Bu üslupsal özellikler ile Rembrandt, sadece kendi dönemi içerisinde değil, tüm sanat tarihinde önemli bir yere sahip, ölümsüz bir sanatçıdır
