IMPRESSIVE UNITY FINDING LIFE IN THE HANDS OF REMBRANDT: THE SCIENCE OF ANATOMY AND THE ART OF PAINTING
In 1632, Rembrandt painted his masterpiece called “Dr Tulp’s Anatomy Lesson” in which the art and the science of anatomy were met together. In the painting, Dr Tulp described as teaching anatomy to the Members of the Amsterdam Guild of Surgeons near a cadaver. As it is seen that the left forearm of the cadaver was dissected and the members of the guild listening Dr Tulp with excitement mixed curiosity. Rembrandt managed “chiaroscuro” technique in order to create light – dark areas. He managed this technique successfully by adding a realistic sense to his unique work. This painting is often seen on the cover of the anatomy books and it affects many people today as it was yesterday.

REMBRANDT’IN ELLERİNDE HAYAT BULAN ETKİLEYİCİ BİR BİRLİKTELİK: ANATOMİ BİLİMİ VE RESİM SANATI
