In 1632, Rembrandt painted his masterpiece called Dr Tulps Anatomy Lesson in which the art and the science of anatomy were met together. In the painting, Dr Tulp described as teaching anatomy to the Members of the Amsterdam Guild of Surgeons near a cadaver. As it is seen that the left forearm of the cadaver was dissected and the members of the guild listening Dr Tulp with excitement mixed curiosity. Rembrandt managed chiaroscuro technique in order to create light dark areas. He managed this technique successfully by adding a realistic sense to his unique work. This painting is often seen on the cover of the anatomy books and it affects many people today as it was yesterday.
