Furniture, in present day, is a sector in which the design of the product is referred as a branding and competition element, a sector in which it is needed to be renewed constantly in line with the consumer demands. While the recognition of the competitive capacity with the globalization in Turkish furniture sector practices productions of the big scale enterprises, it brought the differentiation needs with itself. Competition is shown as the most important element of taking part in the market and being able to compete. With the aim of analyzing the current situation of design perception, the roles that the designers undertake, the industrial design occupation in the sector in Turkey, within the scope of a masters thesis that is conducted in Marmara University Graduate School of Fine Arts Interior Architecture Art Major, two different polls carried out to the manufacturing companies in the sector and the designers who works as dependent or independent to the companies in the sector. Results of these polls, which are applied to the responsible people in the production departments of companies and to the designers that work in the sector, are evaluated jointly and it is prepared with the aim of evaluating the current situation of furniture sector, apart from the present day sector reports.
